  • It is $the most popular holiday in Great Britain/ it celebrates on the 25-th of December/ children hang stockings at the end of their beds, hoping that Father Christmas will come down the chimney during the night and fill them with toys and sweets.

  • It is an extra holiday after Christmas Lay/ this is the time to visit friends and relatives or perhaps sit at home and watch football.

  • On October 31, children dress up as ghosts and witches, skeletons and have noisy parties. Sometimes they go to the people′s houses and ring at the door, shouting «Trick or treat».

  • On this day, in 1776, America signed Declaration of Independence. It is a national public holiday celebrated with fireworks.

  • It is not a national holiday. It is a happy little festival in honour of St. Valentine, patron of sweethearts and love$rs. It is widely celebrates among people of all ages by the exchange of «Valentines». A «valentine» mean a special greeting card or a little present.

  • The British celebrate the 5-th of November. They burn a dummy, made of straw and old clothes, on a bonfire and let of Fireworks.
