$Тема: Путешествие по англо-говорящим странам

Цель: Активизация лексических единиц страноведческого характера (названия стран, столиц, символов), обобщение знаний и расширение кругозора учащихся о странах изучаемого языка (Великобритании, США, Канады, Австралии, Новой Зеландии, Северной Ирландии).

Задачи:

познавательная $– обогатить страноведческие знания об англо-говорящих странах; закрепить знания о географическом положении англо-говорящих стран;

развивающая развивать память и умения осуществлять самооценку пройденного материала, $развивать умения использовать Интернет-ресурсы для презентации материала;

учебная – формировать навыки аудирования, монологической речи;

здоровьесберегающая – воспитывать бережное отношение к своему

$здоровью, избегать перегрузки учащихся.

    6. Презентация старшеклассников об Ирландии.

    7. Прослушивание и работа с текстом песни.

    8. Подведение итогов урока, объяснение домашнего задания, оценивание работы учащихся.

    Ход урока:

    1. Организационный момент и приветствие.

    T: Hello, students and our dear guests! We’re glad to meet you. Who is on duty today?

    S: I am.

    T: Who is absent today?

    S: ….

    $ T: What day is it today?

    S: Today is Monday.

    T: What date is it today?

    S: It is the 20th of March.

    $T: What season is it now?

    S: It is spring.

    T: What is the weather like today?

    S: It is not very cold. It is sunny…

    T: What time is it now?

    S: It seven past eleven.

    Thanks. Sit down, please. And now, students try to answer my following questions:

    1. What language is easily unde$rstood in any part of the world?

    2. What language is often spoken at international conference and seminars?

    3. What language is most often used in the Internet communication?

    4. In what countries is English the official language? Can you show them on the map, please?

    The students understand that it is English. They show the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand on the map.

    Of course, you are right. It is English. English is an international language. Today we’ll speak about English and the English-speaking countries. But today’s lesson is unusual. It will be a competition between our two groups. You will answer the questions about the English-speaking countries and get a point for ea$ch right answer. At the end of the lesson we’ll count your points and see who the winner is: team 1 or team 2. And this quiet wonderful Irish music will help you to relax and enjoy the lesson.

    $But at the beginning we would like to have some phonetic exercises. And geographical names connected with our subject, the English-speaking countries, will help us.

    Ok. Perfect. And now we would like someone to summarize the information given in the text and tell us about Great Britain.

    Thank you. It was very good. Sit down, please. We have learnt that Great Britain consists of 4 parts, and one of them is Northern Ireland. And now we suggest to learn more about this country, and the students from the tenth and eleventh forms will help us in it. So, girls you are$ welcome.

    So, boys and girls, you know that Irish people like singing and listening to songs. One of their favourite songs is the old Irish song “Danny Boy”. It is the non-official hymn of all Irish people all over the world and the official hymn of Northern Ireland.

    Let’s listen to it right now. But we won’t just listen to it. You can see a sheet of paper in front of you with the words of this song. But some words are missing. Let’s put them down. You will have to choose one the variants given.
