Тема урока: «Relationships. Help is at hand.»

Место и время проведения урока: 16 февраля 2012г., 5 урок (17.00-17.40)

Ц$ели:

  1. Практические:

    1. Развитие умения восприятия и понимания иноязычной речи на слух (ведение урока на английском языке).

    2. Развитие умения использования грамматического материала.

    3. Развитие умений монологической и диалогической речи.

  2. Общеобразовательные:

    1. Расширение словарного запаса и кругозора учащихся в рамках темы урока.

    2. Расширение фоновых знаний учащихся в рамках темы урока (межличностные отношения)

  3. Развивающие:

    1. Развитие памяти и мышления (поиск примеров $в тексте, исправление ошибок, выбор той или иной формы глагола)

    2. Развитие реактивной деятельности учащихся в процессе урока.

  4. $Воспитательные:

    1. Воспитание умений решать проблему по заданной теме.

    2. Воспитание речевого этикета на уроках английского языка.

Задачи:

  1. Закрепление и совершенствование лексического материала и формирование навыков его использования в рамках темы урока.

  2. $Совершенствование навыков использования ранее изученного грамматического материала в рамках темы урока.

  3. Совершенствование навыков чтения с целью извлечения детальной информации в рамках темы урока.

  4. Совершенствование навыков письменной речи в рамках темы урока.

Оснащение урока: Компьютер, учебное пособие, рабочая тетрадь , доска, карточки.

Ход урока:

  1. Организационный момент (2 minutes)

  • Hello, my pupils. I’m glad to meet you. How are you?

  • Hello! Fine, thanks! And you?

  • I’m o’k! Now, who can tell me:

What is the date today?

$What is the day today?

What is the weather today?

Do you like this weather? Why? Why not?

  • Today is the 16th February. It’s very cold, windy, frosty, etc.

  • $Yes, the weather is quite nasty/good . What news? It’s nice to hear that you’re all fine. Today we continue to talk about people’s relationships and about the teenager’s problems. And this lesson will get to review some grammar rules, which deal with present simple and past simple tenses.

  1. Фонетическая зарядка (5 minutes)

  • Look at the board, guys! Here you can see a tongue-twister. Let’s read it!

Betty Botter bought some butter but, said she, the butter’s bitter.
If I
put it in my batter, it$ will make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter will make my bitter batter better.
So she bought some better butter, better than the bitter butter,
put it in her bitter batter, made her bitter batter better.
So ’twas better Betty Botter bought some better butter.

  • It was an excellent job! And now, look at the verbs put and bought.

What tense forms of these verbs are used in this tongue-twister in these definite sentences?

  • Students: Present Simple and Past Simple.

  • Yes, you’re quite right! I think it’s very time to review these grammar tenses: present simple $and present continuous.

  1. Основной этап.

    1. Воспроизведение в памяти ранее изученного грамматического материалом (3-5 minutes).

  • Now, I want you to look at the board. You can see some sentences:

I often go out with my friends.

I often went out with my friends.

I go out with my friends now.

$I went out with my friends last night.

  • $Now, tell me please, are they all correct?

  • Students: The first and the second sentences are correct. The third sentence is not correct, because we use “now” when we are talking about definite period of time. The 4th sentence is correct, because the past simple can refer to a definite period of time.

    1. Работа с грамматическим материалом (7-10 minutes)

  • Now, guys, I want you divide in two groups. I will give you the cards with the sentences. These sentences describes some actions in present or in past. You should read and analyze these sentences, and make a review, when do we use present simple, and when do we use past simple. You have 6 minutes.

Card 1 (group 1):

My dad talks in his sleep.

$I don’t see my cousins very often.

She lives in Switzerland.

Ann is married.

Does Rob have a girlfriend at the moment?

Term start$s next Monday.

I’ll call you when I get back.

Actually, I do have a sister, but she lives abroad.

Card 2 (group 2)

I talked in my sleep when I was a child

I didn’t see my cousins very often when I was growing up.

I bought my dad’s birthday present yesterday.

She lived in Switzerland.

They were married for seventy years.

Roula had long hair a few years ago.

I went downstairs and m$ade the kids their breakfast.

Actually, I did agree with her.

  • Now, let’s present your results.(2 minutes)

Group$ 1, please!

  • We use the present simple:

for habits, to show how often things happen or don’t happen, for permanent situations, for general truths, facts and abilities, for states, for the future (in timetables and in time clauses), to emphasise an action or situation.

  • Group 2, please!

  • We use the past si$mple:

for habits in the past, to show how often things happened or didn’t happen, for single completed actions, for permanent situations in the past, for general truths and facts about the past, for past states, for the main events in a story, to emphasise an action or situation.

  • Well done, students! Now, open your books at p. 6-7. We’ve already read this article (Help is at hand) at the previous lesson. Now your task is to find and underline the examples of:

1)The present simple in the question form (paragraph 1).

2)The emphatic present simple (paragraph 6).$

3)The past simple in the negative (paragraph 4).

You have 2 minutes.

  • Students’ answers: 1)Who do they turn to? 2)It really does to help to talk. 3)He didn’t want to talk.

  • You’re absolutely right. Now, let’s do exercise B at p.8. Here you can see a text. There are 10 mistakes in it. Find these mistakes. Correct them and write down the right variant in your notebooks. You have 5 minutes.

  • Now, ex. C p. 8. You should use these verbs in the correct form to complete the sentences. You have 5 minutes.

  • Students answer.

  1. $Заключительный этап (5-7 minutes).

  • Let’s sum up what we have learned at the less$on. Answer my questions, please:

When do we use the present simple? When do we use past simple? Give the examples (рефлексия).

  • Studentsanswers.

  • Please, look at the board. There is your hometask. Write it down.

Ex. D p.8.In your notebooks you should write 5 questions you can ask someone about: a)their family and friends; b)what they did last weekend.
